Harvest Festival (Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017)
Chair: Shannon Smith
The annual Harvest Festival is our biggest fundraiser of the year! We have one committee responsible for planning and organizing (choosing vendors, coordinating ticket sales, soliciting silent auction donations, etc.), and another for “day-of” activities (set-up, clean-up, etc.). Many volunteers are needed!
Chair: Karen Meinerz & Jody Gibson
Responsibilities of this committee include setting up and taking down the Book Fair twice a year, as well as staffing the event an hour or two during school hours. The Book Fair is a fun way to engage the students!
Family Dinner Nights
Chair: Karen Meinerz & Jody Gibson
A wonderful way for Altadeña families to come together and socialize outside of school, Family Dinner Nights are evenings set aside at local eateries where students and staff agree to be patrons in exchange for a percentage of the profits. This committee is responsible for contacting local eateries to set up dates and terms of agreement and for promoting the event. The committee chair is also responsible for collecting the proceeds and delivering them to the PTSO.

This committee is responsible for coordinating our monthly Teacher/Staff Appreciation Luncheons and the annual Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week in May. Committee members plan, set up and coordinate donations, which are solicited from Altadeña families via monthly email requests. Parent donations are greatly appreciated and make these events a huge success! 8th Grade Promotion Dance
This committee is responsible for planning and implementing all aspects of the 8th grade promotion dance, which typically takes place in May. The committee of this special event will oversee details such as decoration, photography, entertainment, and more.
Box Tops for Education
Chair: Casey DeLashmutt
This committee promotes the collection of BoxTops within Altadeña’s student body and mails collected BoxTops for redemption. Altadeña student groups usually help with cutting and counting.
I’ll Help Where Needed for an Hour or Two!
Chair: Chanelle DeGraff
This group of volunteers will be added to the Volunteer Coordinator’s database and will be emailed when help is needed. Examples of needs might include hearing and vision screenings, PE uniform distribution, special project help, and backup for other committees. This option is designed for folks who aren’t able to commit to a specific committee, but would like to help as needs arise.
